INSIGHTS MDI® - Personal potential analysis

What is behavioural typology ?

The behavioural research is generally of the opinion the most effective people are those which know themselves. Know their strengths and weaknesses when developing strategies to satisfy the needs of their environment.
When choosing a future employee ask your candidate about his “strengths and weaknesses”. The applicant should explain these by using of the flipchart.
The results of useable concrete information is nearly always minimal.
This is different with the INSIGHTS survey: Here the personal interests, attitudes and values are systematically and highly efficiently questioned, analyses and described in a scientifically based manner. In the light of such “Leadership-Check “ help can be offered for possible changes or in the field of communication.

Origin of the theory of personality

The origin of the theory of personality can be traced back to 5 B.C. When Hippokrates first discovered four different types of energies / temperaments  which could be individually found in people. The INSIGHTS MDI – profile analysis builds on the personality model of the swiss psychologist C. G. Jung. This model was first published in his work  “Psychological Types” in 1921 and further developed in follow up writings. Jung´s  work concerning typology and preferences has since been used as a basic understanding of personality and is still to this day subject of empirical research worldwide.

The INSIGHTS MDI - profile analysis supplies on the base of the Jung typology a frame for self analysis and personal further development. According to C. G. Jung every person has preferences in how he perceives his environment, evaluates it, makes decisions and acts accordingly. Cognitions in behavioural research have shown that the most successful people are those who recognise their preferences and  strengths and weaknesses and know them well. This enables them to develop strategies to better satisfy the needs of their environment.

Basic of the INSIGHTS potential analysis

The scientific works of Carl Gustav Jung and William M. Marston  provide the basics for the INSIGHTS – analysis tools. The PIW-Model – personal interests , attitudes and values – is based on the works of Eduard Spranger.  The development of INSIGHTS MDI was masterminded by Bill J. Bonnstetter. Today INSIGHTS MDI  (Management Development Instruments) are constantly further developed and new instruments added by Bonnstetter and his company Success-Insights TM International (USA).

The “HOW and WHY behaviour motive”

The extensive INSIGHTS MDI analysing tools show optimal and simply at a glance the capability, competence, conception of values und behaviour preference. The natural and the adapted behaviour patterns – basic and working style (adapted style) – are illustrated in the “INSIGHTS Wheel”.

With the INSIGHTS competence model, which is constructed like a modular system, all aspects of the human potential are covered by three questions:

· “What” am I able to do? What are my assets in know how, skills, experience and competence?
· “How” do I perform,  which preference do I use to complete my task?
· “Why” describes our motives, our personal interests, attitudes und values. Our drives, convictions, expectations, our culture, our characteristics. These motives are divided into six sections or values: theory, economics, individuality, aesthetics, social matters and tradition. The “Why Motives” are the completion and the implementation of behaviour typical criteria in career life as well as the daily routine.

 BILD
The graphic chart  “Basic style” (B), explains the “Basic style” as a preference behaviour which you will introduce into your career.
